(M)aximizing (E)ducational (D)evelopment through (A)cademic and (L)eadership (S)kills

In 1989 the need for a program focusing on issues relevant to underrepresented high school student populations, aiming to inform about post high school opportunities, available resources, and the associated processes for being accepted and funding post high school education,  became clearly apparent.

In 1990, the first annual Maximizing Educational Development through Academic & Leadership Skills (MEDALS) conference was offered by the Department of Multicultural Services to address this need.  Since this time MEDALS has expanded the mission to include providing high school students the unique experience of viewing opportunities at Texas A&M University from a student perspective.

The planning for MEDALS 2013 is underway...Please continue to check this site frequently for updates and registration information.

The 2013 MEDALS CONFERENCE will take

 place on November 15th & 16th
